Khao Kob Cave

Tham Le Khao Kob (Le Khao Kob Cave) is one of the most remarkable and adrenaline-pumping natural attractions in Trang Province. Located in the Huai Yot district, this limestone cave system is unique because an underground stream flows through it, meaning the only way to explore its depths is by boat.
The "Dragon’s Belly" Experience
The defining feature of Tham Le Khao Kob is the thrilling exit known as the "Dragon’s Belly" (Tham Thong Mangkon).
The Legend: Local belief holds that the cave represents a giant dragon. Passing through the narrowest part of the cave is equivalent to "passing through the dragon’s belly," which is said to bring great wealth, health, and good luck to those who complete the journey.
The Thrill: To exit the cave, the ceiling drops so low that there is no room to sit. Visitors must lie completely flat on the floor of the rowing boat. For several minutes, sharp stalactites pass just inches—sometimes centimeters—above your nose. It is a heart-pounding, claustrophobic, yet exhilarating experience that is unlike any other cave tour in the world.
Inside the Cave Chambers
Before reaching the "Dragon’s Belly," the boat stops at several large, walkable chambers where the boatmen act as
guides:Chao Chao Cave & Bridal Curtain Cave: These rooms feature spectacular white stalactites and stalagmites that shimmer like diamonds. Some formations hang down like delicate curtains, creating a romantic and ethereal atmosphere.
The Roots Room: A fascinating section where the roots of large trees from the mountain above have pushed through the cave ceiling, hanging down like natural chandeliers.
Unique Geology: The cave is still "alive," meaning the minerals are still dripping and forming new structures, giving the rocks a wet, sparkling appearance.
