Koh Kradan (Kradan Island) is widely regarded as the most beautiful island in the Trang archipelago and was recently ranked as one of the best beaches in the world. It is famous for its breathtaking "Maldives-like" scenery, featuring powdery white sand and incredibly vibrant turquoise water.
The "Crystal Clear" Paradise
The most striking feature of Koh Kradan is its water clarity. The sea here is so transparent that you can often see the coral reefs and colorful fish from the boat before you even jump in.
The Main Beach: The eastern side of the island features a long, white sandy beach that stretches for about two kilometers. At low tide, a massive sandbar emerges, allowing you to walk far out into the ocean while the water only reaches your ankles.
The Sunrise View: Facing east, Koh Kradan offers some of the most spectacular sunrises in Thailand, with the limestone karsts of the neighboring islands silhouetted against the morning sky.
World-Class Snorkeling Right Off the Beach
Unlike many other islands where you need a boat to reach good snorkeling spots, Koh Kradan offers amazing underwater life just meters away from the shore.
Fringing Reefs: The island is surrounded by healthy coral reefs. You can simply put on your mask and swim out to see brain corals, staghorn corals, and a variety of marine life including clownfish (Nemo), parrotfish, and even small reef sharks.
National Park Protection: As part of the Hat Chao Mai National Park, the island is well-preserved. There are no villages, busy roads, or large shopping centers, ensuring the environment remains pristine.
The Underwater Wedding Island
Koh Kradan gained international fame for hosting the Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony. Every year around Valentine’s Day, couples from all over the world come here to plunge beneath the waves and sign their marriage certificates underwater, a tradition that has been recognized by the Guinness World Records.
