Prakaiphet Cave (Diamond Cave) nature trail

Phrakaiphet Cave is one of the beautiful and prominent caves in the area of Ratchaprapha Dam (Cheow Lan Lake) in Surat Thani Province, located within Khao Sok National Park.

• Distinctive Feature: Phrakaiphet Cave gets its name because the rocks inside reflect light and sparkle like diamonds when illuminated. The cave is full of oddly shaped stalagmites and stalactites, with some small stalactites resembling hair or rootlets.
  
• Length: The cave is approximately 100 meters long.
  
• Cave Conditions: The cave floor can be wet, muddy, and slippery, with stalagmites at the bottom serving as footholds for visitors.
  
• Suitability for Tourism: Khao Sok National Park has surveyed the cave and found it suitable and safe for tourists to visit.
• Optimal Visiting Time: The best time to visit Phrakaiphet Cave is between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, preferably on a day with no rain or overcast skies.
  
• Travel: Getting to Phrakaiphet Cave is often part of a boat tour program on Ratchaprapha Dam (Cheow Lan Lake), which typically includes visits to other spots like Khao Sam Kler and various raft houses.

Things to Note:
Phrakaiphet Cave is different from Coral Cave (Tham Pakarang), another famous cave in the Ratchaprapha Dam area. Coral Cave features stalagmites and stalactites that resemble underwater coral.
